MADE TO BE NUMBER ONE
While minibikes and scooter conversion kits are already part of the history of speed trials, the new minicross Polini XP65R cc (Ed.: “R” stands for Racing) with a 6 gear liquid cooled motor is designed to satisfy both the expectations of all minicross enthusiasts and the bigger cross fans wanting to have fun on cross tracks on a bike with high tech Resources and excellent value for the money. The new minicross Polini XP65R cc has all the fine details typical of Polini products: the chassis, motor, suspension, design and finish all meet the needs of young champions, its intended riders. The new chassis (that can be dismantled at the rear) and the trapezoidal fork let you fully exploit the generous “horse power” of the new 65 cc motor with a Piaggio base crankcase, but with the thermic group, exhaust, timing, gearbox and ignition all by Polini with specific characteristics for this model. The new design frame structure guarantees ideal distribution of weight; it improves the balance, handling and stability when racing on various cross tracks. The single rear shock absorber is unprecedented: it exploits a new leverage system especially designed to optimise traction on all types of terrain. No rear bumping, no dangerous loss of grip and no lack of power transmission on the terrain. The line is a typical cross motor one: embracing, comfortable, yet tough. And with an excellent finish. The thermic group has a light alloy cylinder and a 45.4 mm bore. The exhaust system is moulded P04 low carbon steel. The silencer anodised aluminium. The saddle non slip. The brake system hydraulic disc brakes. The wheel rims high strength light alloy. The motor - single cylinder, two stroke, liquid cooled - has lamellar induction and six gear shift. A special bike full of innovative details, pointing to the continual evolution that Polini Motori develops on the track and in its ultra-modern R&D centre in Alzano Lombardo (Bergamo).

CHASSIS: STRONG AND SAFE
The minicross Polini XP65R cc’s new distinctive chassis Resources a collapsible rear section for easier access to the shock absorber area and the filter case. Not only does this solution make for faster access, it also speeds up servicing and adjustments of the suspension and the intake filter case. Plus the setting and cleaning of the rear axle before and after races. The frame structure - single beam, double around the cylinder - is made from high strength tubular steel. The specifications have been carefully calculated to increase its resistance to torsional stress, while also guaranteeing the necessary elasticity. Powder painted. The tubular steel used has different diameters in various parts of the frame for better resistance to fatigue and to guarantee max strength. The fork - again made from steel - has two trapezoidal swing arms and withstands high stress. The traction and stability of the rear axle have been optimised. The new frame concentrates the centre of gravity towards the ground, thus improving weight distribution.
These characteristics make for improved racing on cross tracks, better handling and balance on entering a bend, stability on rough terrain and increased precision on bends. For a smooth ride and excellent balance.

MOTOR: PIAGGIO BASE, POLINI SPIRIT
The new minicross Polini XP65R cc’s motor has a light alloy die-cast Piaggio base. Polini is responsible for the know-how and development of all the other motor components. The lamellar induction is direct into the crankcase. Input is controlled by a valve with a battery of two opposing carbon fibre reeds with flow guide. Six gear shift. The thermic group, exhaust system, control unit and mapping are specifically designed for track competitions. The light alloy cylinder has a barrel with Nicasil coating. This guarantees smoother piston movement and excellent wear resistance. Five transfer ports. Bore dimensions and stroke: 45.4 x 40 mm. The gravity cast piston has a segment.

FORK AND REAR SUSPENSION
The fork is by Paioli: UPS with 36 mm diameter rods. Carefully calibrated to offer top performance on all terrain types. Strengthened rods and guards. The steering tube is mounted on cylindrical roller bearings: the safest and most solid solution to guarantee stability on rough terrain. The rear suspension is a single shock absorber. This offers progressive leverage developed to guarantee a greater wheel excursion. Not to mention by far more constant traction on the toughest of surfaces. Variable position rear shock absorber by Paioli.

BRAKE SYSTEM
The brakes are hydraulic disc brakes. The diameter of the front brake is 200 mm, the rear 160 mm. The wheel rims are made from ultra-strong light alloy. The die-cast light alloy hubs have straight spokes to guarantee max resistance to even the sharpest of bumps and knocks. 60/100-14” front tyre; 80/100-12” rear tyre.

STYLING: TO BE NUMBER ONE
The frame has been cataphoresis treated and powder painted a metallic grey. The plastic mudguards and covers are all non scratch and shockproof with the classic Polini Motori racing colours: white / blue.
The spunky styling hasn’t overlooked a single detail. Only the dimensions make this minicross differ from the bigger bikes used in the World Cross Gran Prix races. Just like these, it’s streamlined, beautiful in its essential lines and offers a natural racing position. All Polini bikes feature ergonomic design to improve and boost performance, even in the toughest of races. The saddle profile deserves special mention: covered with a special non slip material, it has a fixing system for quick and easy adjustment/removal. The fuel tank holds 3 litres, easily enough for competitions.
